Meera Bai who is considered the true enthusiast of Krishna and she is also the symbol of grand celebration of Krishna janmashtami. On this special day her songs are very famous. The main purpose of celebrating of this festival is bringing people together so that the concept of unity strengthens.

Story Behind This Festival

Shri Krishna was born in Prison around fifty two hundred years ago in the most beautiful City i.e Mathura (UP). He is the eighth child of his mother Devaki. The main reason behind Shri Krishna Birth is that he could free earth from evils and demons and save people’s life. Krishana also played an important role in Mahabharata and expand the words of good karma which is also mentioned in Bhagvad Gita. His father wants to save krishna’s life from the eminent death in the hands of Kansa so he decided to give Krishna to his friend Nandas. Krishna grown up in the city of Gokul and then he killed his evil uncle Kansa and saved his parents life.

In certain parts of India Janmashtami is celebrated in many ways but it is very popular in Mathura and Vrindavan. You can also say Mathura and Vrindavan is one of the biggest celebrations of janmashtami. People from all over the world join this part of the event.
