It has been rightly said that necessity is the mother of inventions and this is how Styledotty was born. In 2014, two close mates decided to have a usual Saturday lunch at Hakkasan Mayfair. The usual talk over lunch was business potential in India. The conversation was initiated as the starters arrived and by the time chilled macaroons were served the idea of selling lifestyle products arose. This was pretty evident as having stayed in London for years and witnessed the growth of spectacular shopping venues and designer outlets had left a lasting impression on our minds. No doubt both co-founders have a taste of finer things in life whether it be fast cars or exploring niche fragrances. Initially we noticed a massive gap in the Indian e-commerce whereby the growth of online sites was inversely proportional to the customer service provided by majority of online portals. We saw this as an opportunity and were well aware the necessity of providing world class customer service for long term growth of our business. For the next few months we worked on pricing, sourcing, strategy and researching on various aspects of setting up an online portal which would cater Indian clients. Our business model is backed by various boutiques, niche brands and distributors (strictly by invitation only) who are keen to expand in Emerging Asia. As of now our merchandise is stored in London from where it is dispatched worldwide. Styledotty clears the goods on behalf of its clients and delivers it to them within reasonable time limits. Our strength lies in very competetive local currency pricing of products due to decades of currency management experience.
